Concerning the whole of the Westminster Confession of Faith, as a summary of the Word of God:
1. The Bible as the Written Word of God.
The Bible is the written Word of God; contained are all the 66 books of the Old & New Testaments, given by the inspiration of God, completely sufficient and necessary unto salvation, having authority to be believed and depended upon alone as the truth of God. Scripture is the Supreme Judge, by which all religion and doctrine are to be examined.
2. One Living & Triune God.
There is but one only living and true God, infinite in being and perfection, having all life in and of Himself. In the unity of this infinite God there are three Persons:
God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, three distinct, yet fully divine Persons
equal in power.
3. The Condition & Redemption of Man.
Man is sinful, utterly lost, and completely incapable of exercising his own will to turn to God without the irresistible influence of the Holy Spirit. Therefore every person is separated from God as dead, in sin, and without hope outside the act of God upon him or her.
Redemption for man’s sin is inescapably necessary to be reconciled to God, and without the direct act of God Himself it would be un-accomplishable. Jesus Christ therefore is the only name given among mankind, by which we must be saved (redeemed). His sacrificial death and spotlessly righteous life therefore are only and wholly sufficient for the redemption of human beings. This is done through faith by the grace of God. Faith alone in Christ alone by grace alone is God’s designated method of salvation.
4. The Church & the Sacraments.
The Church is comprised of a local body of professing Christians. The Church exists for the glory of God alone. Its members are bound to the Sabbath worship of God, to maintain fellowship one with another in the mutual edification, encouragement, correction, and prayer that in-person worship brings. The goal of personal and corporate worship is God’s glory and our sanctification in the likeness of Jesus Christ.
Christ has commanded two sacraments: The Lord’s Supper and Baptism. Baptism is not only for admission into the visible (professing) church, but more so a sign and seal of the Covenant of Grace, ingrafting into Jesus Christ by faith, remission of sins, and the subsequent walk in newness of life. It is to be given to those who understand God’s work in Jesus Christ and profess belief in it, and also to the infants of one or both believing parents. The Lord’s Supper is also commanded of God’s people, bread and the cup being symbolic of Jesus Christ’s sacrificial life and death received by faith. It is to be taken together and after solemn self-examination in hearing of God’s Word.
5. Creation & The Destiny of Mankind.
God created the universe, the world, and everything in it by speaking it forth, out of nothing (ex nihilo), and in six literal, 24 hour days. Man and Woman were created in the image of God, as image-bearers, and for His glory and worship, reflecting Him in true knowledge, righteousness and holiness.
God has appointed a day wherein He will judge the world and all mankind in righteousness by Jesus Christ. All persons who have ever or will ever live will stand before Him, to give account of every act and thought, good or evil, and to receive accordingly for what they have done. This day will result in the eternal salvation of God’s elect in Jesus Christ and the eternal damnation of the reprobate, as God sees fit, according to His Word in Jesus Christ.
6. Christianity & Culture.
We condemn Abortion & Euthanasia; the murder of defenseless human beings, whether young or old. We condemn unbiblical definitions of gender, homosexuality, and marriage; there exist only two genders/sexes, male and female, as God created, and marriage is the union of one man and one woman before God for life. We condemn all cultural attacks upon God’s church: Feminism, Critical Race Theory, Intersectionality, and all other attempts to corrupt God’s true and perfect Word.
