So may times we put God’s Word in a category of “mysterious” and refuse to allow Him to speak simply & clearly. Reading through Genesis I see Abraham, who to many is a sort of mystery–a super human mystery, the father of the Jews.
Instead God puts him forward simply as the progenitor, the first one to display something, something that God wants brought to attention. Abraham displayed faith, he took God at his word and staked his life on Him. Abraham believed God and God blessed him for that–simply that.
Faith is simply to take God at His Word and trust Him, or as He puts it, to be assured of the things hoped for and convinced of the things we cannot see.
The caveat then is that one must know what God has said.
Blessings as you seek Him.
